On Saturday, April 19, 2025, student athletes gathered at the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity for an inspiring and educational workshop titled “Project Time Out,” organized by Scholar Athletes Globally Emerging, Inc.

The engaging session was designed to equip young athletes with practical tools for managing stress, balancing academics and sports, fueling their bodies for peak performance, and promoting lifelong well-being.

Team SAGE invests in the whole athlete—developing sound minds, sound bodies, strong character, and brighter futures.

Project Time Out 2025

A Day Built Around the Whole Athlete

Throughout the day, participants joined interactive discussions and activities led by experts committed to youth development. Students were encouraged to ask questions, share their experiences, and build personal action plans they could use in school, sports, and everyday life.

  • Strategies for stress management and mental resilience.
  • The importance of balanced nutrition for athletic performance.
  • Techniques for maintaining focus and motivation during training and competition.
  • Open conversations about mental wellness and asking for support.
  • Practical habits that strengthen academic, athletic, and personal success.

Creating Better Support for Young Athletes

Project Time Out was created to foster a supportive environment where student athletes can thrive physically, mentally, academically, and socially. By bringing wellness, nutrition, leadership, and resilience into the same conversation, Team SAGE helps young people recognize that their well-being matters just as much as their performance.

The workshop also reinforced an important message: strong athletes are not defined only by what happens during competition. They are shaped by the choices, habits, relationships, and support systems they build away from the game.

Looking Ahead

Thanks to the dedication of the presenters, supporters, volunteers, and participating students, Project Time Out was a tremendous success. Team SAGE looks forward to expanding initiatives like this and creating more opportunities for students to develop the confidence, knowledge, and healthy habits needed for lifelong success.
